MORE THAN A WORD

Love is a word that should never be taken lightly.

Gazing into each other's eyes, holding me so tightly.

So powerful that I never want it to go away,

My insecurity within that you will some day stray.

Giving away the precious moments we have grown to love.

Moments surreal and tranquil as the flight of a dove.

I am the wounded dove, heart bleeding and left to die!

You promised to love me forever,

So why did you lie?

I have a problem with a man who is without manhood!

You are a broken down man-child!

Always up to no good!

Love is a word that should never be taken lightly.

Who is loving you now?

And holding you so tightly?

Well.......

 it won't be me!

Because I don't have the time!

I would rather be by myself,

And I know I'll be just fine!

  1. This is a familiar theme that I have encountered in my past as well. You have expressed yourself well as you always do. Thanks for the memory, and for sharring your experience. xo Carlus

  2. this is a beautiful poem
as women we tend to love
    with our whole being
    while most men,
    not all,
    but most love with only
    one set of eyes
    and as their eyes tire
and our magic fades in light
    their eyes go wandering
and with their eyes goes their love
and we who saw them from the start
watch them fade as we part.
is there still love lingering for the once was time
    how can there not be
for we love with our whole being
    and that never changes.
    as always MelInda
