When that look in his eye evokes what’s coming soon

Is now finger pointing blame

When “bitch” and “ho”
Have replaced your name
Love don’t matter that much!
When he isolates you from your family and friends
Love don’t matter that much!
When you oppose it, he denies it and grins
Love don’t matter that much!
When he accuses you of still loving your ex
Love don’t matter that much!
When love-making, becomes just make up sex
Love don’t matter that much!
When nothing you do is ever good enough
Love don’t matter that much!
When the sting of his hands replaces a once gentle touch
Love don’t matter that much!
When he stays out all hours of the night without a phone call
Love don’t matter that much!
When he drinks, gets drunk and blames it on the alcohol
Love don’t matter that much!
When he cheats on you, his faithful wife
Love don’t matter that much!
When he threatens to take you and his kids’ life
Love don’t matter that much!
When he beats you down, in front of the kids
Love don’t matter that much!
When he shoots and kills you, and says
“SEE WHAT YOU DID?”
HIS LOVE DON’T MATTER THAT DAMN MUCH!
